It’s likely if you’ve been on the Internet for any length of time you have heard about books becoming online bestsellers by reaching the top of the charts on the two big online bookstores. What you may not know are all the benefits to becoming that bestselling author.
Here are some other things to consider. With the best selling author program, you are going to turn an unknown book to an overnight success. You are going to become a more credible and recognized expert in your subject area.
With a recent campaign I coordinated we used the book as the springboard to other opportunities for the author. The author had already booked three teleconferences with industry experts; one was booked just before the campaign took place and two were booked after the fact.
Having an online bestseller didn’t hurt her position in the marketplace because people were more inclined to want her on their teleconferences than somebody who is an unknown author.
The teleconferences were part of the overall promotions of a live event. The event was hugely successful generating substantial revenues for my client.
This client had the right mindset for her best selling authors campaign. The book was a catalyst for visibility, credibility and served as a springboard into other opportunities.
The beauty of doing teleconferences is the people who will be interviewing you are providing a great resource to their market and the author is gaining entry into new markets and new buyers; it is a win-win all the way around.
Be prepared for these types of opportunities. Here’s what you should have developed:

* Questions a host can ask you
* Jpeg headshot
When you do teleseminars or radio interviews ask the host if it is okay for you to promote your online book launch and your website. Most will be very happy to let you do so. However, never promote anything without permission. Doing so may upset the host.
When you are on teleconferences, you may or may not sell more books; chances are you will, but you also use the teleconference as a way to drive people to your website or blog to get them to sign up for something.
You can use what is called an ethical bribe such as a free eBook, report, podcast, etc., to encourage the visitor to opt-in to your database.
Once in your database you are now in a position to continue to build a level of trust with them over time through backend marketing.
Eventually many of the listeners who visit your site for something free may turn into a buyer of your book and other services; that is if you have an ongoing marketing vision.
