Working Writers Quote: Charles Peguy
Writers are an interesting lot, simply because they are all so very different. What works for one writer doesn’t for another. One person may write to the sounds of music, while another may need it totally quiet.
The process of writing is different for us all. That’s why this quote is so very true:
A word is not the same with one writer as with another. One tears it from his guts. The other pulls it out of his overcoat pocket.
~Charles Peguy
If you’re an aspiring writer and worried that your writing isn’t like X (fill in the blank here: Dan Brown, Willa Cather, Stephen King, Mark Twain…. and on and on….) don’t be. Don’t worry about your writing not being like someone else’s. Be original. Write the story you want to write, there’s room enough for everyone.
