Increase Your Writing Karma
Think the energies of the world are against you? Maybe it’s your writing karma. If you’re someone who continually takes and never gives back, you might have some things to change.
Developing bad writing karma can happen any number of ways. Things like asking for reviews and but never giving them, asking for assistance (link love, tweets, comments, advice) but never reciprocating, not getting to know other writers, and not using social networking correctly are all actions that can make your writing karma go down the tube. In today’s world, writers need to support each other. Competition in the traditional sense doesn’t exist anymore, because the more each of us can get the word out about our works, the better it is for all of us.
So here’s your assignment for today, if you’ve been a writer who has taken a little bit more than you’ve given, make a point to fix that. Leave a review. Offer congratulations. Buy a book. Pass the word along about someone else’s book. You never know how doing so can help your own writing karma.
