3 Ways Writers Can Promote Their Work Using Social Media

We all hear people talking about social media and how businesses should be using it. Well guess what they are right. Your audience is out there right now sharing information with their friends, family, and business associates. The question is are you using this powerful tool to propel your writing?
Well I’m going to show you 3 ways to promote your work using social media.

1. Twitter – This is a great place to share your work. In a 140 words or less you let people know that you have a new article, blog post or ebook out. The great thing about Twitter is that people can re-tweet your post and re-tweet it again. Essentially spreading to tons of people.


2. LinkedIn – LinkedIn is a more professional social media site but is just as great. You have several ways to share you information here and it can be done in just a few clicks.

• Network Activity – This is kind of similar to Twitter, but here you can the option to share your updates with your entire network or just a few people that your connected to our to the groups you belong to.
• Groups – Groups are a great way to connect with other professionals who share the same or similar interest as you. If you are a member of several groups you can share your article with all your groups at once.
• Sharing – When you post an update on your network activity or in a group people that are connected to you can comment on you post or share it with their network of contacts or the groups the belong to. Cool thing about sharing is that people that you are not connected to or a member of a group can see your article.

3. Facebook – Facebook is one of the most visited social media sites out there today. That makes this an excellent place to share your work. There a few ways you can share your work on Facebook.

• Personal profile updates – Kind of the same as Twitter and LinkedIn. You let people know what’s happening with you. Your new article, blog post or ebook.
• Fan Pages – Creating a Fan Page allows you to communicate directly with your fans and customers. These are people who like your page and are interested in what you have to say. These people are more targeted that your profile.
With a little bit of effort you can be posting and sharing your articles using these social media outlets. If you use social media to its full potential you can build a loyal base of followers and build up your credibility in no time.
