As a blogger, I get asked to review books quite a lot from authors and publishers. I enjoy doing it most of the time, but every once in a blue moon I come across a book I really don’t like. What then?
Did you ever (as a writer) read a book and then feel depressed that you’ll never be as good a writer? LOL! That’s the feeling I always get when I read Jenny B. Jones’ writing. She is so good, and I hope one day my books affect people the way her books do me.
Remember Michelle Moran? We interviewed her a while back, when she had just released her book, Cleopatra’s Daughter: A Novel. So many of you wrote that you loved that book, and I’m about to tell you why it’s important to get to know writers you like reading.
I had so many people recommend The Paris Wife: A Novel to me, and now I know why. Wow! It was great. I really enjoy reading about writers, and this one is like going through a time machine back to the early days of Hemingway’s career.
