Guest post by Phyllis Zimbler Miller I first decided to self-publish when I learned that self-publishers no longer had to pay for a print run and stack the books in their garages (or second bedrooms).  The concept of POD – print on demand – is truly genius in my opinion.

As a self-published author, I have found the experience unique, yet rewarding; unique because I’ve not known any other comparable experience. Since September 2010 (when my first book was published), I have travelled nationwide, and networked with individuals that I would not have otherwise known existed.

The e-book format makes it much easier to publish your work yourself and let the readers decide if it is of merit.
