It’s National Global Entrepreneurship Week, so I thought it might be a good time to talk about how that relates to the writers of the world. What does it take to succeed as a writer? Some say it’s an entrepreneurial spirit.
We’ve made it through a week of mistakes that writers make when it comes to virtual book tours. Aren’t you glad to be almost done with this? Today’s post is short and will help you tie the earlier lessons together.
We’re talking about mistakes this week. Specifically, the mistakes writers make when doing a blog tour.
We’re continuing the discussion on book tours today, so here’s second mistake on the list.
I host a lot of authors on this blog, both in the interviews I conduct myself and those that go along with their virtual book tours. I like to promote other authors, but sometimes the things they do really confound me.
Have you tried advertising your book? Pay-per-click advertising on sites like Google and Facebook can be an affordable and effective way to do it. I’ve tried out some of these, and I’ll share my thoughts here on what’s worked and not worked for me.
Since I spent yesterday chatting about some of the pet peeves I see with author bios, I thought I’d expand on that today to include photos. Bottom line, if you’re a writer in any way, shape, or form, you need a photo of yourself.
I interview a lot of authors here, and there is one trend I’ve noticed that is really making authors look bad: a poor bio. To me, there are a couple things that just scream “amateur trying to sound important” on author bios.
